Pumpkin pie with chocolate frosting
Servings 8
Ingredients
- 250 gr pumpkin
- 200 gr wheat flour
- 150 gr amaretti
- 100 gr brown sugar
- 50 ml sunflower oil
- 2 eggs
- ginger
- cloves
- orange peel
- baking powder
for the icing
- 250 gr dark chocolate
- 90 ml milk
- orange essential oil
Instructions

Cook the pumpkin in the oven or steamed. Blend it with milk. Apart beat the eggs with the sugar. Add the oil, the orange zest, ginger and cloves (it only takes a couple).

Crumble the dried “amaretti” and add them to the mixture with the pumpkin puree. Finally add the flour, previously mixed with the baking powder.

Mix all ingredients well. Grease a cake tin and pour the mixture.

Bake in preheated oven for 45 minutes at 180°Check the cake with a toothpick.

Meanwhile, prepare the frosting, melting the chocolate in milk over medium heat. When all the chocolate has melted, remove from heat and add 4-5 drops of essential oil of sweet orange.

Pour the icing on the cake and spreading with a spatula.

Garnish with the edge with the amaretti.
